Home Companion KC is a non-medical home health care company that helps to give support and peace of mind to our clients through a wealth of care options that best suit our families and their needs. We are an insured and proud member of the Home Care Association of America.
Your experience with our company will begin with an assessment that will align you and your family with a companion being assigned to complete an in-home Care Plan that is based on the physical, and emotional needs of your loved one, with a focus on their safety and wellbeing. These needs are then met through the selective screening of qualified, trustworthy and compassionate personnel with your full approval. Initial assessments are free.
We are a local, woman and family owned and operated business that is not restricted by franchise rules. This allows us the opportunity to customize our services in unique ways to meet the exact needs of our clients.

Diana Navarrete has been in the health care industry for the past ten years, as a bilingual billing coordinator for Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, and as a Patient Access Representative at St. Luke’s Hospitals. The many facets of her experiences include and are not limited to direct patient contact providing care and compassion for helping families navigate the many complexities in billing, insurance, and the financial aspects of health care.
Just a couple of years ago, Diana lost her Father, and it was completely devastating. Like so many patients and family members, she saw a major need in home health and companionship with people that are in their homes with no one to help them, work with them and to simply talk with. That’s when she and co-founder, Trey DeBose, through many conversations about how great it would be for families to be able to have a service where clients could interact with someone who genuinely cares about them in more ways than one. She also noticed the great need her clients had for extra help around the home to supplement the home nursing care they were receiving. These many conversations ultimately led to the start up of Kansas City’s first service geared to doing just that!

During that same time, he joined an upstart music group, in the Eighties, that is still going strong today after 35 years(Perpetual Change). He created the

Trey DeBose has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. He has been an educator teaching Middle and High School instrumental, and vocal music for many years. During that same time, he joined an upstart music group, in the Eighties, that is still going strong today after 35 years(Perpetual Change). He created the very first coworking and collaborative space for musicians called JAMKC. There, musicians could come and pay a subscription to be a part of an organic coworking atmosphere to write, rehearse and perform music with random strangers that became a collective musical family. It was a huge success!
As the years progressed, Trey started to experience very difficult times with his own elderly parents that were struggling with dementia, and failing kidneys. He saw the need for his parents to need more than just his immediate family support. He always wished his Mother could have had a home health companion that would be there to assist with daily duties such as light house work, or even rebooting the Apple TV and smart home devices, and just having a new ear to talk with.
Combining Trey’s entrepreneurial spirit, and his parent’s situation of many years, he and his Co-Founder, Diana Navarrete, created Home Companion KC.
